“The RV Guys”. “Who are they? The name sounds familiar, but I can’t quite place them.”
Well “The RV guys” are the two most passionate RV enthusiasts in the world. Although they were career bankers, they have lived and loved the world of RVs and travel for the last 25 years, first as a pastime, and now full time.
Their activities have included owning and using RVs (they estimate between their 2 families they have stayed in over 100 campgrounds in the US and Canada). In addition, they attend several RV shows every year, make regular trips to Elkhart, Indiana to visit plants and suppliers, visit every dealership they have ever passed, and subscribe to several RV trade magazines. In their quest they have become instructors of RV classes, given entertaining and informative seminars at RV rallies, and have been called upon by RV companies to evaluate new products and ideas. Yes, they are truly “RV Nuts”. The folks at the RV Museum in Elkhart have promised to save a place on the “Hall of Fame” wall for their eventual induction.
Laird has become a rep for Simmons Mattress Company, and is the exclusive distributor of the home-quality Simmons Beautyrest RV Queen Mattress (60”x75”), currently delivering to RVers in S/E Michigan. He is the only one in the country offering a solution, from a major national mattress company, to one of the greatest RV owner complaints. Jim and Laird are also marketing their incredible “Oh Yeah” RV Cleaner, that ends the search for relief from “black streaks and bugs” on RVs.
Jim is a master travel organizer and runs Happy Trails Travel and Happy Sails Travel, taking folks on the most exciting and enjoyable trips ever planned. His trips are complete. He claims that except for some souvenirs, you can leave your wallet home.
Now that they are both retired, their mission is to help the RV industry better understand, from a consumer’s perspective, how to design and market RVs, and to show the consuming public how to live and enjoy travel and the RV life style like they have never before. People who have met and traveled with them rave about their knowledge and passion, and truly love being around these two outgoing, funny and fun guys. They have a way of making you feel like you are their best friend as soon as you meet them. And their love of travel and RVing is contagious.
